Locksmith ("we", "us") provides locksmith services across metro Melbourne. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Details you give us — your name, phone number, suburb, email address and a description of the job when you fill in a form or call us.
- How you found us — if you arrive from an advertisement or a tagged link, we record the campaign details carried in that link (for example the ad platform and campaign name) alongside your enquiry.
- Technical information — your IP address and browser type, recorded with form submissions to help us block spam and abuse.
- Usage information — if analytics or advertising tools are enabled on this site (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel), those services use cookies to measure visits, calls and enquiries. They receive information about how you use the site but not the contents of our forms.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry, quote the job, and send a technician.
- To contact you about that job — including follow-up on the work and any warranty.
- To understand which advertising brings genuine enquiries, so we spend less reaching the people who need us.
- To keep the website secure and free of automated spam.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not add you to marketing lists from a quote request.
Who we share it with
Only the people and services needed to do the job: our technicians, our website host (which stores form submissions), our email provider, and — where enabled — Google and Meta for the measurement described above. Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and job records for as long as we need them to provide the service, meet warranty obligations and comply with tax and business record-keeping requirements, then delete them.
Cookies and your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works. You can also opt out of personalised advertising through your Google ad settings and your Meta ad preferences.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@locksmithnearme.pro or call 1300 000 000. We will respond within 30 days.
